Barracuda and the Cold

How you get a cold in 100 degree heat is beyond me but I got one. The only thing that made me feel better the other day was to get in the water and float. So yesterday when my kayak trip got cancelled, I decided to head off to the beach. Brought my snorkel mask which I kinda wish I hadn't now.

As I was swimming out in semi rough water, I came across the most beautiful neon stripped little school of fish. They swam into me which surprised me that they didn't run away. I reveled in the sparkly little guys until I saw why they were gathering close. A group of three large barracudas hunting.

Yikes! I started to try to swim away from the school but they kept following me using me as a shield. The silvery stripes were all around. I looked down at what I was wearing and I matched. Bright stripped bikini bottoms with a nice metal tassel. Holy crap, I was one of the pack.

Now normally barracudas don't scare me cause you only see one and they're not interested in you, just the fish. But I have never come across a group of them which literally had me high tailing it out of the water hoping not to be mistaken for lunch. I've been gasping for air normally and when I finally got to shore and left the school, I was bent over huffing and puffing.

Gotta love a cold in 100 degree heat.

Well, today I'm onshore and discovering the wonderful world of drawing inks. My grandmother used to draw in ink and I never considered it just like watercolors. But as I've been itching to do something different, I found it.

I don't know if it's like artist osmosis or what but grandma, had quite an influence on me. I'm starting to realize this as all her favorite mediums have rubbed off on me. Pretty cool...

On the Search for Hot Meat

OMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm MOO.

Holy crap this was good.

(Lis realizing she's just another brick in the wall.)

Had a really nice day yesterday. In between painting, Lis and I went to town for supplies and a burger. She was desperately low on cigarettes and I was desperately low on chocolate. Such a good reason to go to town for a break and some MEAT! On the search for some hot meat and beer! Yum.

The drive into town is really pretty. Got to see cows, sheep and one big ass llama (the animal kind). I forgot how many good beers Colorado has. Enjoyed a nice wheat ale with my cheeseburger which was divine.

Got back to the temple post meat and beer heaven to paint a bit more. Took that pic of Lis sitting outside the temple doors while she was watching the rain and rainbows listening to Pink Floyd's the Wall. A very chill day, indeed.
