Lovin' the rain from my 1800 year-old window.

Spaceliner - The Coolest Bike Ever!

My sweetie got me a bad-ass birthday gift. The Spaceliner!

A 1950's bike complete with really cool lights which will work after he rewires them. The color and shape are so cute. As Paul said, it looks like it's from the Jetsons - ironically, one of my favorite cartoons growing up. Gotta go get some silver tassels and maybe a space helmet.

Sunday

Ah, Sunday workday on the Dolphin Cat. A boat I have never worked on before. Got to go searching for the little guys and found a bunch.

What happens when a French couple sends off their kids with us alone to see Dolphins?? You see a dolphin penis, of course!

The pod of dolphins we saw were thrashing about and when one of the kids asked what they were doing, I got to tell them they were mating. It was pretty obvious when one of them jumped out of the water. The kiddos definitely got some good pics.

Great day but the best part was seeing a complete rainbow appear over the island. Key West was framed by a giant bow just as it should be. So happy the water jobs are ramping up with the good weather.

Monday

Just another day at the office... Kayak tour for four.

As a kid when it snowed, I used to go into the lot next door and push my sled through the bushes making trails as I went. Just realized this kinda looks familiar.

Spring!

Worked more on the water these past two weeks than I did all season. The weather has officially turned. Got my arm strength back with some 4 hour paddle sessions and am currently enjoying my favorite time of the year. SPRING!!!!!

The water is warming. Looking forward to the mid-day swim again.

Beer and Strawberries

It was so nice out today, I took a dusk bike ride out to Albertson's to get some strawberries and beer. And what appears above was the new town neighborhood scene. Beautiful. Later it was infested with termites flying everywhere - a side effect of the sunset bike ride but totally worth it.

"Do you have some ID?" the cashier asked eyeing me up and down.

"Uh, no um, I'm 37." I stammered trying to remember my age.

This is Key West and it's a fact of life you need to carry ID if you even remotely look under 21. I have to card people too at work so I wait patiently wait prepared to leave with just strawberries. The bag boy runs off and I turned around to find out where he was going on. Three lanes down, him and manager try to gauge my age. He looked at me, mouthed something to the bag boy and then the bag boy gave a thumbs up with a smile and ran back.

The cashier continued still not believing me "What year were you born?"

"1973." I said, quickly realizing I gave her the wrong age when she first asked me how old I am. Total Score.

Spring has Sprung!

Had a really good day yesterday starting off on the right foot for the Spring Equinox.

Been talking about doing this forever and I finally did it. After learning a bit of photoshop, I made some of my paintings into cards. Walked down to the Garden Cottage store on Southard to show the owner and she loved them which was so great. She liked them so much she bought them all on the spot and handed me a check which I couldn't have been happier about.

I keep flashing back to my junior high art class where we got to make screen printed cards. I remember looking at one I made thinking this was really cool. Can't wait to experiment some more...
